Meet Eileen

Eileen Talamante, RN, JD
Founder, Talamante Law
Eileen Talamante is both a registered nurse and lawyer in Virginia with over 25 years of combined nursing and legal experience. She brings a unique understanding and perspective regarding the myriad of difficult issues Virginia’s nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers face in today's complex, highly regulated, and increasingly understaffed and unsafe healthcare environment. She is passionate about advocating on behalf of fellow nurses and other healthcare providers.
She founded Talamante Law in 2024 to focus exclusively on representing healthcare professionals across Virginia in licensing and disciplinary matters before the Board of Nursing, Board of Medicine, and other state licensing boards. In 2025, the firm was recognized in Best Law Firms for Healthcare Law.
Before launching her own practice, Eileen spent more than a decade with Goodman Allen Donnelly in Richmond, where she served as a shareholder member. Her unique background as both a critical care nurse and lawyer gives her an unmatched perspective on the challenges healthcare providers face in today’s complex and demanding environment.
Eileen is widely respected for her advocacy on behalf of Virginia’s nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. She has been recognized with numerous honors, including:
- Platinum Client Champion, Martindale-Hubbell (since 2023)
- Best Lawyers in America, Healthcare & Administrative/Regulatory Law (since 2023)
- Influential Women in the Law, Virginia Lawyers Weekly (2023)
- Outstanding Advocate Award, The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (2020)
- Year of the Nurse Award, Virginia Nurses Foundation (2020)
Her leadership extends beyond her law practice. Eileen has served as President of the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. American Inn of Court (2017–2019), as a Board Member and President-Elect of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Chapter of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (VASHRM).
Eileen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin and her law degree with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She worked her way through law school as a critical care nurse, an experience that continues to shape her passion for protecting and advocating for healthcare professionals.
Today, most of Eileen’s client interactions are handled virtually, allowing her to represent healthcare providers statewide. For in-person meetings and hearings, she welcomes clients to her Richmond office, conveniently located near the Virginia Department of Health and state licensing boards.
Eileen is deeply committed to empowering healthcare professionals, ensuring their voices are heard, and protecting their ability to practice in a safe and fair environment.
